Alfred Bryan died from wounds on 2nd June, 1915, after having been sent to a base hospital on the coast, but as yet there is no information as to when and where he was wounded. The 2nd Royal West Surrey (Queens) battalion were part of 22 Brigade, 7th Division which, in the middle of May, 1915, had been involved in the Battle of Festubert when over half of their number had become casualties and it is quite likely that this was when he was wounded. |
